Denis Coughlan
With a raspy voice and a swaggering stage style, Denis "Junior" Coughlan has made a name for himself on the Jersey Shore music scene. Unfortunately, we can't repeat it due to Mazmania Music Company's policy to only present music and information in a tasteful and elegant light. Women have been magnetically attracted to him on stage. They have been mesmerized by the gigantic bulge in his pants. "Pepperoni," he says. "Works like a charm." Crazed women have been bringing cheese and crackers to his shows and throwing them at him during a performance. His stage manner recalls the feeling you may get after ingesting one too many Slim Jims and washing them down with "beer" found in a bottle outside the club. "What IS this?" you may exclaim. "That's entertainment," he replies. "Now drink up or urine trouble."

Joe Garofalo
A bassist best-known for his rock and roll work, few are aware of Joe's interest in microtonal music and alternative rhythms. "Things are never quite what they seem," he says. "Patterns, sounds, rhythms--what do they all mean?" Fingering his fretboard in public has won him accolades, applause and (last and certainly least) money. "Thank the Lord I'm a happy person," he adds, "because the music business can sure give you the Blues." While waiting for his first Gold record, Joe just spray painted some old LPs and will hang them up as soon as they are dry. "Too bad they don't sell platinum paint!"

Dave Malyszko
Tinkling ivories can take you all around the world. Just ask Dave Malyszko. He's done more dates than a Times Square hooker and he's satisfied more crowds than he will publicly admit. He is also a very experienced musician. Lately, Dave finds himself attracted to classical music, jazz, Latin rhythms and avant-garde genres, much of which he has mastered and performs with incredible insight and nuance. He also teaches piano and has served as the musical director of countless musical theater productions. Once one of his tunes invades your mind you can't erase the imagery he creates, as "Reflections" clearly reflects.

John Mazurkiewicz
What can you say about him that hasn't already been said? He's smart, intelligent, good-looking...well, you could start with these. Craving anonymity, he wouldn't even agree to put up a photo of himself on this web site (until now, see above). "Why drive people away," he reassured us. A long-time observer of life's quirks and oddities, John finds humor in the most ordinary places. "Mirrors are a good place to start to reflect on things," he says. "Blackheads, pimples, ingrown hairs, carbuncles--they're all symbolic of problems that can be found on the surface. But what's happening beneath the surface--that's what I want to know." On a more serious note, John is working hard to bring Mazmania Music's songs to your attention. Amusing you with these anecdotes, asides, pratfalls and patter is carefully designed to set you up for the unique combination of tragedy and comedy to be found in these songs. The songs speak for themselves. Listen. Love. License.

And leave off the last L for Litigate. As John has often said, "May the phrase, 'Where there's a hit, there's a writ' never apply to our business relationship." Word.

Jorge Quinones
"Singing a song brings me to another place," Jorge has said. Kind of like the subway, you could say. Known for his flamboyant style on stage and his adoption of the persona (non grata) AKA the notorious Mongo Slade, Jorge has left audiences curious as to who is who and what is what. "Who IS this guy?" "What IS he trying to do up there?" with a cunning grin, Jorge knows what's buried in the score--do you? Guitar, percussion, keyboards--Jorge has them all. Always trying to "get a leg up" on the latest musical trends, Jorge can usually be found immersed in liquid, with one or more legs sticking out of the bathtub. If the boom box falls into the bathwater, Jorge may put on his most electrifying performance to date!

Phil Romano
Sticks and stones have been known to break bones, but names have never hurt Phil. "Genius, brilliant, amazing, astounding" are all terms that have been applied to Phil. And those are only the ones we can repeat! As a drummer, Phil is as technically proficient as anyone in the world. This is due in part to countless hours "in the woodshed," as Phil calls it. How he fit a set of drums in there we'll never know. We heard that he has spent more time in the woodshed than the Unabomber! What we do know is that whether it's on the drums, at the piano or painting a "Mallet Palette" on his Mallet KAT, Phil is always on the money, chuggin' like a steam spewin' locomotive, keeping better time than a Swiss watch, beating the tom-toms like a man possessed. Always on stage somewhere, Phil will be coming soon to a club near you. Get ready to be impressed.

Joe Stamboni
Working with a long hose is nothing new to Joe Stamboni. He's been doing it for years, as an outstanding member of a local fire department. "Nothing calms the fire like a blast of liquid relief," he says. And when he talks about firefighting, watch out. Put a guitar in his hands and a microphone near his mouth and his tune changes quickly. Hummin' and strummin' have become an important part of Joe's repertoire. Now, if he could add singing, who knows where this out-of-control fire engine of life could take him. Being one of his own main influences, Joe's humility is touching when it comes to reflecting on his incredible melodies. "Until I read John's lyrics, I never imagined my music being put to such a bizarre series of thoughts," he says. "I'm not angry," he admits, "just very depressed!"
